DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE LIGHTHOUSE BOAT CENTER ?...... Whit Van Cott
Michael Cavallaro had a number of successful car dealerships in Connecticut before moving to the Florida Keys. He started the Lighthouse Boat Center about 11 years ago at mile marker 93 in Tavernier. When the Scotty’s went out of business one and a half years ago Michael decided to move further north with a vision of converting the hardware store into a first class boat sales facility. He invested over 7 million dollars in making the conversion and now has 24,000 square feet of air conditioned showroom, along with offices and a parts and service department. The four and a half acre facility has millions of dollars of inventory inside and out. They represent 8 different boat lines and carry the latest in 4 Stroke engines.
In talking to Robert Sperry, General Manager, he indicated that they have boats for everyone, from a flats boat at $ 18,000 to the 48 footer valued at $1,000,000. From Deck boats for the family to the Off Shores for serious fisherman. They are very pleased with the new location and Robert’s reason for their success, “we provide quality boats with excellent service in a very competitive market”. “The recent Miami Boat Show was a lot of work, but really paid off for our business”. The LIGHTHOUSE BOAT CENTER also has a large number of “previously owned” and “consignment boats”. Go onto their web site to check it out at www.lighthouseboatcenter.com
The fishing club started meeting at the boat center last year. Robert said, “We want to be more then a boat dealer, we want to be part of the community, and that’s why we are glad to offer our facilities”. Their generosity has been wonderful and we are fortunate to have such a good neighbor. |
