CLUB CALENDAR .

SUMMER FISHING TOURNAMENT

There will be a "fun" fishing tournament for the months of June, July and August.  Target species will be DOLPHIN, YELLOWTAIL, MANGROVE & MUTTON.  Winners will be determined by length of fish (not weight) and it goes without saying, this is all on the honor system.   All participants must (1) send a photo along with (2) the length of the fish, (3) where caught (sorta) and (4) bait used to Randy Peters at (petersrr@bellsouth.net),  who has graciously agreed to manage the information.

Participants will only be eligible to win one species per month and one over-all category at the end of the tournament.

This is about bragging rights and to show those snowbirds that the summer birds do know how to catch fish, so let's get out on the water and have some fun!

September 1 -- at Upper Crust Pizza -- 6 pm

This may be our last meeting/social combo before returning to West Marine in October.  Come on out for this event and hear all about Capt. Chan's 100 lb Sword fish (if you haven't already!!) and our President, Capt. Makowski will fill us in with information on the series of Lionfish derbies to be sponsored by the  National Marine Sanctuary and REEF.  To quote a sanctuary spokeswoman, divers and or fishermen could win more than $10,000 in prizes.

If anyone has any suggestions for a speaker or program that you would like to have happen during the summer, please let us know.  We need your help with ideas.
