On August 8 Mike Casale, Lee Lavery and a friend of Lee's from the Broward "Ladies Lets Go Fishing" club went dolphin fishing. As reported on the radio, dolphin fishing was very slow, with most boats not finding any. After spotting some birds and then later finding a tree, they got 21 dolphin, including a 30 lb cow that Lee caught on a 20 lb schoolie spin rod with a chunk of ballyhoo. What an angling feat !!! Mike reported that the ladies out fished any men he had ever taken out and didn't lose a fish. They also caught two muttons. CONTRATULATIONS!! | |

On June 13 Bennie Nelson and wife Carol caught this 8 foot

weighed 300

SUMMER DOLPHIN TOURNAMENT The UKFC Summer Dolphin Tournament held on July 18 was a lot of fun even if the dolphin fishing wasn't so hot. Of the 10 boats that went out ONLY ONE BOAT CAUGHT ANY DOLPHIN and that was a 21 " monster. It was caught on Don Schneeberger's boat with Clark Boggs as an angler. What an angling feat to land this beast !!! The prize was a Penn boat rod with a Shimano TLD25 reel. They flipped a coin and Don kept the rod.
On Sunday, (the half day tournament for Sunday was
cancelled) everyone met at Mike Casale's house for a
barbeque and to exchange fish stories of the monsters that
got away. There was a good turnout of about 20 people. |

After two hours Tom M. brought the marlin to the side of the boat, Rob maneuvered the boat so the fish could be handled safely on the starboard side, John helped Tom M. with leadering and handling the fish and then jumped over to take photographs. Tom F. grabbed the leader and then held the bill while he removed the hook from the corner of the marlin's mouth. The marlin was released in very good condition and swam away with a couple of flicks of the tail. The two pictures show Tom Mulligan fighting the fish with Rob Stewart maneuvering the boat and Tom Frankovich holding the marlin's bill while removing the hook. The whole two hours was a great team effort and the reason everything went smoothly. |

Caught trolling a red and white rattle trap. We were

Red's boat. Don't know what to expect next weekend but
