Contest Rules

1. Caught legally by club member or family member (family membership) in good standing hook and line, meeting Florida size requirements.

2. Measure length of fish in the following manner. All fish have some amount of fork. Florida regulations allow you to pinch the tails together for total length. To make it easy for the contest measure all species nose to inside edge of tail or fork. The only place will there would be significant difference is Yellow Tail. Measure fish to the closet 1/8 inch rounding down. A fish that measures over 20 and 7/8 but not a full 21 is recorded as 20 and 7/8. Winners will determined by length. If you can't weigh fish, measure girth  just in front of the pectoral fins. Use a piece or line and check it on your flat ruler. We can compute a weight estimate.

3. There are 4 separate contests. January, February, March and  Winter season (best of the 3 months).

Merchandise prizes for monthly winners. 1st Place trophys for overall winners. Awards will be presented at the membership meeting following the end of each contest. April meeting will be March and Winter season winners. Winners will be expected to have a story "How and Where".
